So why all the rhinos at the cafe?

The rhino is one of the most amazing animals. We can learn some very important lessons about life and following Christ from the rhino. First off, the leg joints of a rhino only allow them to move forward.  They can never go back.  This reminds us that we need to keep... moving forward even when life throws us a curve.  Secondly, rhinos have very poor eyesight and can run very fast.  They can only see about 30 feet.  Couple that with the fact that they can run at speeds of up to 30 miles an hour.  I think you can see where this might lead.  At times we may feel like we don't know what's coming but we need not fear what we may run into.  We need to run with boldness even if it feels like we are running past our ability to see. One last fact about rhinos, when they gather in a group (community) of four or more the group is called a crash.  Just the potential energy and weight behind the crash send shivers down most peoples spins. And at times the crash of rhinos will run with reckless abandon causing an impact that is lasting. Imagine a group of Christ followers acting much like a rhino crash, running forward with passion making a lasting impact on the world. Imagine, living as a crash of Christ followers. Imagine the life change that would happen if we surrendered our lives to Jesus humbly obeying His will.

Overwhelmed....Be the Church

Well it's almost Sunday again.  My prayer for this coming gathering is that we are more overwhelmed by Jesus than anything else.  Sometimes we take our eyes off of Jesus. But He will never take His eyes of us.  He loves us.  May He be the center of our lives, the place we fix our eyes.

Another thought - I want you all to remember that the sunday night thing is not church.  We are the church. The Sunday Night Things is a place for us to gather and encourage each other.  But remember we are always the church.... be Jesus with skin on right where God has placed you. Live in prayerful dependance on Christ.

First Gathering Sept. 7th

For lack of a better name we've been calling this deal, the sunday night thing.  We desire to step out in faith and start something new. It's really very simple. Scripture talks about the body of Christ being built up for acts of service and living this out in community. Along with that some small groups around Fond du Lac have expressed a desire to be part of something bigger than their groups of friends. So on Sunday night September 7th this new experiment will begin. We will be gathering for a time of testimonies, prayer, learning and worship. So what is God going to do with this? We don't know. What we do know is that we want to seek truth from scripture together, build nurturing relationships and live missionally. We will be intentional about having a movement mentality looking for the Lord to birth more of these deals in the future. But more about that later.
